Sigh. As promised, glute and thigh workout is done. I did a combination of a few different things, but when the first exercise I did resulted in accidentally kicking Neon Toddler in the face I thought it was best to not do any more kick-based things. Anyway, what I found hardest was this:
It’s only ten minutes but it really makes me realise how weak I actually am. I mean, obviously I have strength in my legs from running, but nothing else. So, I figure that it can only help my running to strengthen up my glutes, quads, hammies, and calves. Particularly if I want to make it around the Round Rotherham 80km course in a Western States 100 qualifying time. Which is 11 hours, and that’s my bronze time. Ideally, I’d like to do it in 9 and a half, but still – that could be a stretch, and having stronger legs will certainly not harm my chances. I also need to lean up (i.e. slim down, i.e lose weight).
So, here is today’s motivational poster. It’s not a poster at
all, it’s just a bunch of numbers, aimed at publicly shaming me into changing them:
- Weight: 75.9kgs
- Chest: 91cms
- Waist: 80cms
- Hips: 98cms
- Thighs: 113cms
- (and for context) Height: 1.67m
And, on that note, our vegetable box was delivered today:
- Asparagus
- Baby Spinach
- Black Salsify
- Chicory
- Cocktail Vine Tomatoes
- Pak Choi
- Rhubard
- Yellow Pepper
So, stay tuned for some delicious vegan fests over the next week.
Hope Neon Toddler is OK!
She’s alright. I think it was more of the shock that upset her as I barely touched her. It still doesn’t feel nice to kick your toddler in the face! But lots of hugs solved the tears. Thanks!
When you get the veg boxes do they throw any tips on what to do with unusual ones?
This was a ‘gourmet’ box, so more unusual stuff that you get in the regular boxes anyway. Each week you get a card with some recipes, but there is a cookbook that I got (free) at the start called ‘The Veg Box Companion’ that has heaps of tips for cooking all kinds of veg, plus they have a whole pile of recipes on their website. I’ve never been stuck for what to make out of the more unusual stuff – they do make it really easy for you.
