Today was the NYD Nike run out of NikeTown in Oxford Circus – a 5km run though the West End with some (pretty hard, at times!) training drills thrown in. A great start to the year, and a great start to Janathon!
The run itself wasn’t anything special – the pace was up and down, mainly due to traffic lights and running in a big group is always a little slower. I have always been right at the back of the pack when it comes to runs like this, I am not a blisteringly fast runner, and I’m really only starting to come to terms with the fact that I’m not fast, even over short distances. It’s probably a good thing that my goals are all about going a long way rather than going quickly!
It’s always lovely to run with Mr. Neon, and I was pretty pleased that he finally got to come along to one of these Nike runs! Plus, there was a free breakfast on afterwards, and as per usual there were free tech t-shirts.
As far as Project Vienna training is concerned, today’s run will sub for tomorrow intended 3-5km, and I will do today’s ‘Quality’ run tomorrow!
